National Concert Hall

Winner of the prestigious International Fryderyk Chopin Competition, Yulianna Avdeeva will return to Taiwan once again after her sensational concert tours spanning in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung in 2011. After her win in 2010, Yulianna Avdeeva enters the much observed international scene, having performed with the New York Philharmonic under Music Director Alan Gilbert in Warsaw and New York and with the NHK Symphony Orchestra under Charles Dutoit in Tokyo as well as at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the International Piano Series of the London Southbank Centre, etc.

Born 1985 in Moscow, the young pianist's artistic talent was encouraged very early. Already prior to her success in Warsaw – on top of the First Prize the prestigious jury also awarded her the special prize for the best performance of a sonata, donated by Krystian Zimerman – Yulianna Avdeeva emerged as prize winner from numerous international competitions, amongst them the Bremen Piano Contest 2003 and the Concours de Genève 2006. She distinguished herself already as a young girl: at the age of only twelve she received the First Prize of the International Carl Czerny Young Pianists Competition in Prague. Her honours also include First Prizes of the Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam Competition and the A. M. A. Calabria International Piano Competition.

Yulianna Avdeeva's repertoire spans a wide range of music from Bach to Beethoven, from Schubert and Chopin to the 20th century. Apart from her work as a soloist she highly enjoys playing chamber music.
